What is The Empathy Lab?

The Empathy Lab helps organizations, brands, and builders design with people, not for them. Grounded in Empathy Pulse™, a five-layer method born from brand strategy and empathy-mapping practice for mission-led projects, it turns empathy from a stated value into a design discipline that shapes what gets built, how it's measured, and who it serves. Built for social impact professionals, nonprofit leaders, and equity-focused brands ready to move from intention to action.

Why did I create The Empathy Lab?

I've spent a decade sitting at the intersection of systems and souls — building programs at Google Play, designing community strategy for nonprofits, and asking the same question everywhere I land: what would this look like if we actually centered the people it's for? I'm a public health professional, a program manager, and an AI for Good practitioner. The Empathy Lab is where all of that comes together — not as a side project, but as the framework I've been building my whole career.

So the Lab checks for a pulse, because every relationship has one, and every organization does too. We call the practice Empathy Pulse. Five layers, one rhythm: Notice. Listen. Design. Measure. Nurture.
