A note from me to you <3
I've lived so many lives already — daughter, immigrant, biology student, public health professional, nonprofit founder, strategist, mother, wife, builder, multi-hyphenate everything.
But as I step into 40, I find myself less interested in celebrating what's behind me and more drawn to preparing what's ahead.
We have countless "letters to our younger selves" — the apologies, the grace, the hard-won wisdom offered backward in time. But almost nothing is written in the other direction. Almost nobody asks:
What does my future self need me to get right, right now?
These 40 questions are what I've been sitting with. Some came from grief. Some from joy. Some from a t-shirt I wore at 10 years old that said "No Hurry in Africa" — a phrase I laughed at then and live by now.
I'm not asking you to answer all 40 in one sitting. This is not a quiz. It's a companion for the in-between moments — the quiet drive, the early morning before everyone wakes up, the end of a season that felt like too much.
Take the ones that stop you. Leave the rest for later. And if one question changes how you walk through the rest of today — that's more than enough.
With warmth and intention, Mimo
