A note from me to you <3
I've lived so many lives already — daughter, immigrant, biology student, public health professional, nonprofit founder, strategist, mother, wife, builder, multi-hyphenate everything.
But as I step into 40, I find myself less interested in celebrating what's behind me and more drawn to preparing what's ahead.
We have countless "letters to our younger selves" — the apologies, the grace, the hard-won wisdom offered backward in time. But almost nothing is written in the other direction. Almost nobody asks:
What does my future self need me to get right, right now?
These 40 questions are what I've been sitting with. Some came from grief. Some from joy. Some from a t-shirt I wore at 10 years old that said "No Hurry in Africa", a phrase I laughed at then and live by now.
I'm not asking you to answer all 40 in one sitting. This is not a quiz. It's a companion for the in-between moments, the quiet drive, the early morning before everyone wakes up, the end of a season that felt like too much.
Take the ones that stop you. Leave the rest for later. And if one question changes how you walk through the rest of today, that's more than enough.
With warmth and intention, Mimo
